Republic Act No. 10361 – Domestic Workers Act, commonly called the Batas Kasambahay. It was enacted in 2013 and provides minimum labor standards and social protection for kasambahay. Who is considered a Kasambahay? Generally, a person who regularly performs domestic work in one household as an occupation, such as: All-around household worker Cook Laundry worker Yaya / childcare worker Caregiver for an elderly or sick household member Gardener The law generally does not cover service providers, family drivers, children under foster-family arrangements, or people who perform household work only occasionally or sporadically.
